Forbidden
Set to release Self-Titled Album Set on October 23rd
Thrash metal pioneers FORBIDDEN will release their self-titled album on October 23rd —their first full-length since 2010. Guitarist Craig Locicero and bassist Matt Camacho have shaped the revitalised lineup’s hour-plus record around intense thrash, dynamic musical shifts and progressive ambition. Produced by Locicero, Kontos and Zach Ohren (Machine Head), it moves from “Single Point Failure” to the nine-minute closer “Flower of Life,” marking a renewed vision for the Bay Area metal institution rather than simply a reunion.

Seventh Wonder
Cro-Mags
CRO-MAGS, led by founding member Harley Flanagan, revisit their 1986 debut, ‘The Age of Quarrel,’ with ‘The Age of Quarrel: 40 Years of Quarrel.’ The album features new recordings with original and current band members, plus musicians from Turnstile and Rise Against, bringing fresh energy to a landmark of hardcore.

Flanagan, guitarist Doug Holland, former member Rocky George, and members of Turnstile and Rise Against reinterpret classics including "Hard Times," "World Peace," and "Malfunction," alongside "Everybody's Gonna Die," a 1985 demo-era favourite. Greyson Nekrutman plays drums throughout. Produced and mixed by Arthur Rizk, ‘40 Years of Quarrel’ celebrates the original album’s lasting influence and introduces its fire to new listeners. Ian Hill of Judas Priest Retires
It is with deep sadness that we share this personal message from Ian, who has long been a cornerstone of Judas Priest and will be greatly missed. We wish him well in retirement and warmly welcome Davey into the Priest family.

Hello everyone, for some time I’ve been asked how long I could continue, and I’ve always said “until my performances decline.” Sadly, that time has now come. I have been dealing with severe arthritis for several years, now affecting my shoulders, hands, and knees, and I’ve managed it with medication, gels, and cortisone injections.

Although I was able to record bass for the new album, I began having doubts about completing the recent European tour. We therefore asked Davey Rimmer to learn the set in case he was needed, and after I tore a tendon in my left shoulder shortly before the Brussels encore, I could no longer continue and missed the London show. Davey stepped in and performed brilliantly at short notice.

Specialists say surgery might be avoidable, but there is no guarantee I would regain enough strength for full performances. After 57 years of prioritising touring over family life, I’ve decided to retire and spend more time with my family.

Davey is the clear choice to take over—an excellent bassist and a great person—and I wish him all the best. I remain deeply grateful for my journey and thank everyone for the life I’ve had.

Ian Hill

Darkest Hour
Emerging from Washington, D.C. in the mid-1990s punk, metal, and hardcore scene, DARKEST HOUR fused punk/hardcore energy with the speed and aggression of melodic speed, thrash, and death metal, becoming early pioneers of modern metalcore and the New Wave of American Metal.

Across their career, they have continually evolved and refined their sound while keeping their signature intensity, blending melodic death metal with metalcore and building a loyal fanbase. In 2024, they released their tenth album, Perpetual Terminal.

As AllMusic has noted, "Modern metalcore pioneers Darkest Hour employ an uncompromising sonic attack rooted in melodic speed, thrash metal, and the righteous fury of punk and hardcore."

New Noise Magazine praised the band for moving "with an unrivaled level of dedication" while continuing to sharpen their hybrid sound of melodic metal and hardcore, noting they remain rooted in punk while exploring new creative directions.

For vocalist John Henry, that persistence is deeply personal:

"This has been such a constant in my life that I can't live without," Henry told New Noise. "Any time we ever felt dragged down, something would happen where we would write a song, or we would do a tour, and it'd be, like, okay, we can't stop. This is what we know. This is what we love, and we love doing it too much."

With "Warrior," DARKEST HOUR continue their long-running path, adding another chapter to a career defined by intensity, persistence, and constant forward motion.
